Artists
akka
akka is an experimental artist, radio producer, DJ and community facilitator interested in the sonic, written word and collective organising; guided by a framework of anti-racism, radical hope and reciprocity. Creating under the pseudonym akka, she fuses voice memos, found-sounds, echoic compositions, and influences of her mixed-multifaith lineage. She uses soundscaping as a means to unhinge linear expectations of colonial form and knowledge - in the pursuit of divinity and connection.

Info
We hope you can find all you need to know for now here, but for anything else please get in touch via hello@soma-festival.com. A detailed info pack will be shared closer to the event.
Accessibility +
We are committed to creating a safe and inclusive festival experience for all staff, artists and attendees. Details are available below, but if you would like more information, or for any accessibility requirements please get in touch via hello@soma-festival.com so we can do our best to support you.
A site map will be provided via this info section closer to the event date and will detail where everything is located on-site, including access and accessible facilities.
Access around the site: Soma is located on a private farm property. The event perimeter from the carpark to the main event area is generally flat, but is a greenfield area with some slight mounds and dips which can be affected by wet weather, so please take this into consideration when planning your visit. The site is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible.
We will have a designated parking area for those that require parking closer to the campground and main event area. Please speak with staff upon entry should you require this, and they will direct you.
Lighting & effects: Due to the nature of the event, strobe lighting, lasers and smoke machines will be used at times throughout the course of the event. There will be spaces away from the main stage area without the use of these effects, including a quieter, undercover breakout space.
Accomodation +
Soma is an on-site camping event, with plenty of space to pitch a tent and create a home for the weekend. There will also be a dedicated space for van camping.
There will be no pass outs available.
Getting there & opening times +
Soma Festival will be held ~3 hours from Eora (Sydney). The exact location will be shared to ticket holders via email prior to the event.
The site will open on Friday afternoon, with a slight gap between gates open and music commencing at 4pm. All patrons will be requested to leave the event site on the afternoon of Monday 11th November.
More info on location and transport, including car passes, will be available shortly.
Safety & wellbeing +
We are committed to creating a safer and inclusive space for everyone - discrimination or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated, and we encourage everyone to respect each other's personal space and boundaries.
There will be systems in place during the event for you to reach out if you are being made to feel uncomfortable, or unsafe or notice any disrespectful or predatory behaviour. More info on this will be provided closer to the event.
Soma does not condone the use or possession of illegal substances. Any ticket holder found with such substances in their possession may be refused entry, removed from the Festival Site and/or reported to local authorities.
Take care of yourself and others around you.
Sustainability +
We are fortunate enough to be holding Soma on a beautiful private property in NSW. As organisers, we aim to tread as lightly as possible in respect of the land we are so privileged to come together on, and we ask that all attendees do the same to reduce our individual and collective impact. This is a leave no trace event.
We will have a dedicated page with more info on our sustainability initiatives and how you can help closer to the event.
Ticketing & resale+
Tickets can be purchased via our Facebook group. Payment plans are available via AfterPay and ZipPay.
Tickets may only be resold through our authorised ticketing and resale platform, Humanitix. All name changes must also be processed through Humanitix.
All cars entering the festival will require a car pass. These will be released via Humanitix closer to the event.
Soma has an allocation of discounted tickets available for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. To access these tickets, please email us at hello@soma-festival.com by Friday 1st November.
Volunteer
Expressions of interest for volunteering at Soma 2024 are now closed. Thanks to those who applied, we will be in touch soon to let you know if your application was successful.
